The Worcester Contra Dance will  resume in-person dancing for 2022-23 season beginning on October 8, 2022. (The originally scheduled September 10, 2022 dance was cancelled due to late notice from the venue that they could not make the facility available to us for that day) All dances take place from 7:15–10:30 PM on the second Saturday of each month typically from September through June. A beginner's lesson is offered for all new to contra dancing starting at 7:15 p.m. The dance itself starts at 7:30 p.m. All dances are located in the gymnasium at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St. in Worcester, MA. Gymnasium access is on the left side of the building when viewed from Main Street. The admission fee is $8 to $10 for adults, $6 to $8 for students, and $20 per family.

Please wear soft soled shoes such as dance shoes or clean sneakers in order to prevent damaging the hardwood floor. Mask wearing is OPTIONAL .We will have additional masks available at the admission desk for those who want one.

The gymnasium where the dance is being held is quite large for the expected number of attendees. Regardless, the facility has been furnished with air purifiers along with several fans equipped with MERV 13 filters . These are used during the dance to freshen and circulate air.to maintain adequate ventilation. The facility also has several ceiling fans which assist in that process.
